To all of those who are looking for a place to start with game development and how scalable backends can be achieved, please have a look at https://github.com/game-arch/mmo-arch. This is my hobby project that has gotten a tiny bit of attention lately and I was wanting to see if any others would be willing to look at and be inspired by our efforts so far.
