Having tried and failed at a few crowdfunding campaigns myself, I'll just share my perspective: The click rate for online ads is low, but your rate / 1000 views was actually very good and demonstrates the virtue of advertising to an engaged audience. IMO Kickstarter, IndieGoGo, GoFundMe, etc.. do have success stories but they're not great at making projects visible.
